Thinking About Starting Counseling?
Are you thinking about starting counseling, or maybe you have tried counseling before and for whatever reason you stopped and want to start again.
Perhaps you are wondering where to start.
It can be scary and a little overwhelming to think about taking the first step toward beginning or resuming a counseling process. There are so many things to consider, some of which you may have thought of, others maybe not.
Some things that may be going through your mind are, Who should I choose to be my counselor? Am I going to find a counselor who gets me and with whom I will feel comfortable. Will it really help? Does it mean I’m crazy if I’m considering counseling? Surely I can figure this out on my own, I don’t really need counseling, do I? Maybe I’ll wait and see if things get better. How much money is this going to cost me? How long will I need to go before I start feeling better? How long do the sessions last? My schedule is slammed with work and family stuff, when am I going to find time to do this?
If any of these thoughts ring a bell or strike a cord with you, let’s talk together about some ways counseling can help you.
My name is Hope, and for 19 years I have been providing Christian counseling to individuals and couples who want to integrate their faith into their care. Having a counseling session with me will feel like having Christian discipleship with a trained professional counselor. If that sounds like something you think might help you, reach out, and let’s get in touch.
It’s okay to come to a point where you feel like you need a little more assistance than your friends, family, or even your church family can offer. Meeting with a professional counselor who shares your Christian faith can provide a safe place for you to be authentic as you work through thoughts that are taking up a a little more space in your mind than you want.
This is your counseling journey and you deserve a safe place to unpack your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental, warm, empathetic environment. Whether you have been to Christian counseling before or are just starting, my aim is that you feel safe, heard, and cared for during our visits.
Contact me to start the conversation. You get to decide if you’re ready, my job is to support you along the way.
Through Christ, you got this!
Talk to you soon!
Thanks! And take care!
