FAQ
-
Who can come see you for counseling?
My license permits me to serve Tennessee residents who will physically be in the state of Tennessee during the virtual counseling sessions.
-
Do you offer in-person sessions?
For your convenience I offer both online and in-person sessions.
-
Do you work with children and teenagers?
Yes. In my experience, children usually respond better to in-person therapy. Some teenagers can benefit from online counseling; I will determine with your family whether online or in-person counseling is right for your child or teen.
-

You can pay with your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or HSA/FSA card.
I also accept the following insurance: Aetna, Cigna, Mutual of Omaha, United Healthcare, and some Employee Assistance Plans. Please call 1.800.789.5761 to confirm your specific coverage details.

When are you available to see clients?
I provide virtual sessions from 8:30am to 7:00pm Monday through Thursday and from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday afternoons. I am available to see clients in-person on Friday mornings from 7:00am to 11:00am.
-
How frequently do I need to come to counseling?
In the beginning It is common to come once a week. As clients improve, we can allow more time in between sessions. Once they reach their goals, some clients feel comfortable stopping counseling while others enjoy keeping it as a part of their overall self-care. Together you and I will determine the frequency and duration of your care.
-
Are you available for texting and do you offer support in between sessions?
Providing 24/7 text availability between you and your counselor can lead to developing an unhealthy dependence upon your counselor. My role is to help you learn to navigate through difficult situations by applying the tools and techniques you and I have talked about during our scheduled sessions. While we will not have a texting relationship, I do offer in-between session support through your client portal. You can also contact me via phone or through email and I will contact you by the next business day.
-
How do you ensure your clients are making progress?
To ensure my clients are pleased with their counseling services I ask questions to assess their experience and progress. This helps identify what and if there are any changes that need to be made to their care. Additionally I welcome any feedback or concerns my clients may have about their counseling experience.
-
What are your therapeutic approaches?
My therapeutic approaches include a blend of Christian Counseling, Client-Centered, Choice Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Click here to learn more about each approach. During our time together my clients will experience a safe place to be authentic, and a nurturing and compassionate counselor who appropriately challenges her clients.
