Common Thoughts & Feelings

“I know I should be excited about graduating, but honestly, the whole idea of moving on to something new scares me to death. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Everyone else in my graduating class seems to be doing fine.”

Common Thoughts & Feelings

“I just got married. I should be happy, but I’m not. I don’t know why this is so hard. My husband and I are best friends and we love each other. Why do we keep having disagreements over insignificant things? This is not what either of us expected marriage would be like. People say sometimes it takes time to get adjusted to married life. Is it normal for newlyweds to deal with stuff like this?”

Common Thoughts & Feelings

I love my baby, and am thankful to be a mom, but having and taking care of a newborn is not like I imagined it would be. I had everything planned out. I thought I was ready. Labor and delivery did not go as planned and it makes me sad to think of the whole experience. I am responsible for a newborn but I’m so tired, and everything on my body hurts. Sometimes I feel like it’s too much, and I wonder how I am going to do this? People say things will get better with time. Will they?”

Both negative and positive change can have unexpected challenges. While things like graduating high school and college, getting married, having a new baby, moving, or getting a new job can often be exciting and fun experiences, each one can carry with it challenges we never knew existed.

If you are having these kinds of thoughts, let’s get in touch and explore ways I can support you. My name is Hope and for 19 years I have been helping individuals work through life changes by learning about and making the needed adjustments that can accompany each one. Experiencing unexpected challenges during life changes is normal. Talking with a counselor can provide a safe place to express your feelings while learning to apply healthy ways to adjust to life changes.

Contact me and let’s explore how counseling can help you navigate the challenges you may be experiencing as you adjust to the inevitable changes life can bring.
