FAQ’s for Hope Seay Counseling
FAQ’s
Whether you have had prior counseling experience or are new to the counseling process, you likely have some questions.
1.) Who can come see you for counseling?
My license permits me to provide counseling services to individuals who are residents of and will physically be in the state of Tennessee during the counseling sessions.
2.) Do you offer in-person sessions and what is your availability?
For your convenience, I offer both in-person and virtual sessions.
My in-person availability is Friday mornings from 6:00am to 11:00am.
My virtual availability is Monday through Thursday’s from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Friday afternoons from 11:30am to 2:30pm, and Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
3.) Do you work with children and teenagers?
Yes. In my experience, children usually respond better to in-person therapy. Some teenagers can benefit from online counseling; I will determine with your family whether online or in-person counseling is right for your child or teen.
4.) Do you accept insurance and how much does counseling cost?
I accept the following insurance: Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Mutual of Omaha, United Healthcare, and some Employee Assistance Plans. Please call 1.800.789.5761 to confirm your specific coverage details.
If you choose not to use insurance, current rates are $175 for intakes, $150 for 60 minute sessions, $130 for 45 minute sessions, $100 for 30 minute sessions, and $155 for couple sessions (60 minutes each).
5.) How do I pay for my counseling sessions?
You can pay with your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or HSA/FSA card. If in-person, I also accept cash and/or check.
6.) How do I schedule a free fifteen-minute consultation?
Establishing rapport with your counselor is vital. To help you feel comfortable about starting your counseling journey with me, you can request a free fifteen-minute consultation by pressing the "Book Your Free Consultation” button below:
During our consultation you will have the opportunity to meet with me virtually or over the phone and ask any questions you may have.
7.) How frequently do I need to come to counseling?
In the beginning it is common to come once a week. As you improve, we can allow more time in between sessions. Once you reach your goals, you may feel comfortable stopping counseling or you may enjoy keeping it as a part of your overall self-care. Together you and I will determine the frequency and duration of your care.
8.) Are you available for texting and do you offer in-between session support?
Providing 24/7 text availability between you and your counselor can lead to developing an unhealthy dependence upon your counselor. My role is to help you learn to navigate through difficult situations by applying the tools and techniques you and I have talked about during our scheduled sessions. While we will not have a texting relationship, I do offer in-between session support through your client portal. You can also contact me via phone or through email, and I will contact you by the next business day.
9.) How do you ensure your clients are making progress?
To ensure you are pleased with your counseling services I ask questions to assess your experience and progress. This helps identify what and if there are any changes that need to be made to your care. Additionally I welcome any feedback or concerns you may have about your counseling experience.
10.) What are your therapeutic approaches?
My therapeutic approaches include a blend of Christian Counseling, Client-Centered, Choice Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Click here to learn more about each approach. During our time together you will experience a safe place to be authentic, and a nurturing and compassionate counselor who appropriately challenges you.
